Ayr Seaforth Athletic Club was formed with the merging of Ayr Amateur Athletic Club and Seaforth Amateur Athletic Club in 1960. Club colours are a diagonal red cross on a white vest.
The club is based at the Dam Park Stadium, Content Avenue, Ayr. The stadium has an excellent 400m track for all track events including steeplechase, areas for high jump, shot putt and javelin, 2 pits for long jump and triple jump and should in the near future have a new IAAF standard throws cage installed. There is a grandstand which has seating for around 500 spectators.
The club caters for both male and female athletes of all abilities from the age of 9yrs upwards.
We participate in all aspects of athletics including track & field, cross country and road running. The club competes in both indoor and outdoor athletics leagues within Scotland throughout the year and members also travel throughout the United Kingdom in search of competition in cross country and road racing.
We currently have around 300 members with this number sure to grow owing to the forthcoming 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow which is a mere 35 miles away.
