A group of 10 athletes from Ayr Seaforth competed in last Sundays Lasswade Cross Country at Gorebridge, Midlothian. A bright sunny day greeted them and they made the best of the weather with some excellent runs. The course was slightly altered from last years owing to ongoing work on the nearby railway line but even so a stiff test awaited them.
In the u11 girls youngster Rosie Davidson had a good run finishing in 26th place from 54 runners in a time of 7.39. In the u11 boys race Lewis Martin came back in 32nd place out of 45 runners in a time of 7.44.
In the u13 girls Seaforth were well represented with no less than 4 runners making the trip. Emma Frew continued her excellent early season form coming home in 2nd place out of 42 runners in a time of 12.42, Caitlin Chilton was 11th in 14.22, Lucy Davidson 15th in 14.41 and Jena Anderson 22nd in 15.37. The first three names girls also claimed the 2nd place team prize.
Twin brothers Daniel and Steven Martin were the u13 Seaforth boys representatives with Daniel gaining 5th place from 27 runners in 13.09 and Steven 10th place in 13.47.
In the u15 girls India Birrell finished 18th from 39 runners in 14.27 and Rebecca Martin 34th in 16.23.
